Course Summary

The Post-qualifying social work - Consolidating social work practice with Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) course is designed to help you support newly qualified social workers undergoing their ASYE.

Entry requirements

To apply for this course, you must be a qualified and registered social worker with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

How will I learn?

The course involves 12 weekly morning sessions of teaching at our Stratford campus, led by Senior Lecturer Robin Mutter.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

The Post-qualifying social work - Consolidating social work practice with Assessed and Supported Year in Employment is an accredited MA-level short course with 30 credits. You can study it flexibly as standalone short course with credit, or use it as a building block for a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma or Master of Arts course.

You can also apply for accredited prior learning through UEL's ACL system to progress towards a postgraduate award.

YOUR FUTURE CAREER

This course will help you develop your ability to support newly qualified social workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (AYSE).

It gives you the chance to update your skills in practice interventions, and deepen your knowledge base about current research and policy in contemporary practice. It is also linked to your professional requirement as a social worker to provide evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as part of your continued registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. It is also mapped to the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) of the College of Social Work.

Explore the different career options you can pursue with this degree and see the median salaries of the sector on our Career Coach portal.
