Valentina Signorellli (PhD Film) is an Italian academic, specialising in transmedia storytelling and production.
She has contributed to a variety of both fiction and non-fiction films, as well as TV, advertising and VR projects. Her works have been screened internationally, including the prestigious Venice Biennale. As a director, her main areas of interest are migration, displacement and diaspora. She is one of the co-founders of Daitona, recently awarded as the most innovative production company of the year.
At UEL she is Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA Media and Communication where she teaches Narrative, Mental Wealth and Communication and Media Transformations.

OVERVIEW
I hold a PhD Film from the University of Westminster with a research which exploring the impact of digital technologies on practices of film adaptation, production and consumption.
I am also a professional screenwriter, director and producer. In 2016 I co-founded Daitona, specialising in transmedia production. Our works have been showcased and distributed internationally, including in the prestigious Venice Biennale Film Festival.
My areas of interests cover transmedia storytelling, migration and the transformation of the European identity in the Brexit era.
