Fay is a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Counselling course and is the module leader for “Assessing, Planning and Intervening During and After Disaster and Conflict” on the Humanitarian Intervention MSc. After graduating from UEL’s BSc (Hons) Counselling programme, she went on to complete her MSc in War and Psychiatry at King’s College London and is registered member of the BACP.

OVERVIEW
Fay’s clinical practice has seen her working with those with significant psychiatric diagnoses, sexual assault survivors, victims of human trafficking and exploitation, ex-service men and women, those with a history of criminal activity and trauma survivors.
Fay has predominately worked within the third sector supporting rough sleepers and the homeless community as well as vulnerable adults at risk of offending. She has been an advocate for individuals who have struggled with or been denied access to mental health services due to various complexities such as substance misuse difficulties or a history of non-engagement.
Fay takes a pluralistic approach to her clinical work and has developed and delivered mental health training to various charities as well as other organizations such as the prison service and the housing sector.
In the future Fay wishes to focus her attention on the benefits of EMDR therapy and plans to continue her research into military mental health as well as exploring the ongoing trauma suffered by prison officers in the workplace.
