PREPARE TO START YOUR STUDENT JOURNEY
Pre-arrival checklist
1. Look out for your invite to enrol and set up your account
ShowYou will be sent an invite to enrol and confirm your studies at UEL. The email will be sent to the email address you used on your application and will include your username and a temporary password to use when you log into your student account.
Before you can complete online enrolment, you will need to log on to your UEL account using the temporary password and choose a new password. You will need to do this before you can complete online enrolment.
When choosing your new password, please make sure it has:
- at least 8 characters
- a mix of upper and lower case
- at least one number OR special character such as #

Once you have successfully changed your password you will be able to complete online enrolment.
2. Complete Online Enrolment
ShowWith your student account setup, it's now time to officially become a student of the University of East London! Online enrolment involves confirmation of the details you entered on your application form, paying your tuition fees, registering your course modules and agreeing to the terms and conditions for your course of study.

3. Apply for On-Campus Accommodation
ShowSituated on the waterfront at our Docklands Campus, our modern accommodation halls are close to teaching buildings, our sport and fitness facilities, the library, student services and fun social activities. There’s excellent public transport links to help you explore the local area and more of London, plus a free and convenient inter-campus bus service to Stratford and USS Campuses. Our Halls have a 24/7 Security Reception who keep our buildings safe, plus we have a dedicated Residential Life team who are there to help you settle in and make the most of your time living on campus.

4. Prepare for your studies and student life
ShowPrepare for your studies by accessing your course information page. Simply select your course from the list, and access course specific to help you prepare for your studies. There's a welcome from your Course Leader and contact details for your tutors as well as important details about your first week and course induction. You will also be able to access resources such as your course handbook and top tips for learning!
From there you can also access Track My Future where you will find heaps of great information to help you feel prepared.
Make sure you also read your undergraduate or postgraduate handbooks which are full of useful information to help you prepare for university life.
5. Mandatory events for your diary
ShowBefore you start you are required to join us on Tuesday 9 – Friday 12 May for our virtual weeklong Kickstarter event and virtual pre-arrival event on Tuesday 23 May .
These unmissable events will give you the opportunity to find out more about our approach to teaching and learning, offer visa and compliance advice, provide a chance to find out more about the university experience, access enrolment support and prepare you for your course induction.
You are also required to attend your course induction in person, on campus from Monday 29 May . You can find the details of when your course induction will take place and where, on your course information page.
Please also note these key dates and deadlines in your diary, along with the term dates.
If you're an international student, you're also invited to attend International Orientation on Wednesday 24 May.
6. Prepare to travel to campus
ShowWherever you’re joining us from, it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with our campuses and plan your journey ahead of your first official day on campus on Monday 19 September for your course induction.

8. Sign up for Welcome Week

During your first week, there's lots of important events to attend that will help you get your academic journey off to the right start. These events are your orientations - known as International Welcome and Welcome - and also your Induction Week (mandatory).
