National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) with UEL
National professional qualifications (NPQs) are designed to support the professional development of teachers and leaders. Our suite NPQs are informed by the best available research and evidence.
NPQs are currently fully-funded for all state schools, colleges and independent special schools wherever you choose to study. Study with us and receive additional benefits.

Why study your NPQ with us?
- Unique benefits: Studying your NPQ qualifies you for a 15% discount on our Masters in Leadership in Education programme. You will be UEL Alumni. We also accredit NPQs Masters in Leadership in Education programme (30-60 Master’s level credits).
- Environment: Our NPQs are taught primarily online, with only 3-4 sessions per year face-to-face. These face-to-face sessions are taught in our professional learning environment at our University of London, Stratford, Water Lane campus.
- High-quality & Impact: We received 100% pass rate and 98% participant satisfaction rate in 2022/23. Participants felt that our NPQs positively impacted their practice within teaching and leadership.
- Expertise and Experience: All NPQs are delivered by expert, experienced NPQ facilitators who are educators from range of school backgrounds: current/past senior leaders who have worked across primary, secondary, Special schools and also colleges (FE).
- Save time: Are you responsible for NPQ coordination in your state school/college? Choose us to deliver your NPQs. They are still free for all state schools, but partnering with us means we will run all scheduling, session delivery and quality assurance in-house at no cost.
NPQs at UEL: What to expect
Receive NPQ content tailored to your needs
- All sessions are adapted to the contexts and needs of the participants across all NPQ programmes: NPQLT, NPQLTD, NPQSL and NPQH. We are open to running a wider range of NPQs, if your school/college/trust has an interested cohort. Contact us, and see more NPQ information on the LLSE website.
- We can run FE and SEND-specific cohorts, with materials catered to these contexts.
Study in a professional, academic learning environment, led by experts
- Sessions facilitated online and face to face by experts, mostly in-school senior leaders (current and previous)
- All face to face delivery is conducted on UEL’s Stratford Campus – in dedicated professional learning spaces, without distractions
- Our programme delivery has received top ratings from our participants, and a 100% success rate at assessment.
