Students under 18
Unfortunately, we cannot house any students under 18 years old. The preferred option in this case is for the students to live in with a local family (i.e. a Homestay) until they are 18 and then apply to move into Halls. Please contact us if this applies to you.
SMART’s Halls Guarantor Scheme
If a student is facing financial hardship and are unable to pay the £500 advance rent payment, they may be eligible for support via SMART’s Halls Guarantor Scheme. Please note that we are only able to offer this to New UEL Students who are UK and EU students.
The Halls Guarantor Scheme is not a loan, but an agreement to postpone the £500 advance rent. The £500 will be split equally into the student’s instalment plan when they are setting up their payment plan for 2023-24. Students must pay the £250 deposit to be considered for this scheme.
If students are unable to find any other alternative in order to make the payment and would like more information on the SMART’s Halls Guarantor Scheme, please contact us.
