Library and Learning Services... and much more
UEL's virtual learning environment (VLE) is built on the popular 'Moodle' platform. It provides 'courses' where learning materials and activities can be accessed. It also provides access to a range of other learning resources such as Turnitin, MyPortfolio, Panopto, Lynda.com, and Module Evaluation surveys.
Turnitin provides for the electronic submission, grading and feedback of text-based assignments. It is accessed via Moodle, where the course owner creates a Turnitin link for students to upload their work. Turnitin returns an originality score. A marker can add a grade and feedback, which is returned to the student at a set date and time.
Student Support hubs
To ensure you get the best possible support, we’ve opened brand-new Student Support hubs at our Docklands and Stratford campuses - at a cost of £3.1 million. These contain centralised helpdesks as well as comfortable areas to relax and socialise.
The helpdesks provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for every possible need, from course-related enquiries to personal issues such as health and money matters. They’re designed to be your first port of call if you have an enquiry or problem
