Transferring to UEL
If you are already attending university in your country and thinking about transferring, you may be able to transition smoothly into the next level at UEL. The process is simple and very similar to that of someone who has never attended university, with just a few extra steps.
You must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 (out of 4) and be able to submit your community college or university transcripts, to determine what level of our degree programmes you will be able to transfer into.
Find out more.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
To study at UEL, you must demonstrate that your English level is at the standard for university study. We accept a number of different English language qualifications/tests for entry onto our courses, with IELTS being the most common.
The University of East London is approved for both FAFSA and Canadian Provincial Loans. We also accept Sallie Mae and may be able to accept other private loans. Students can take out federal loans from the US government to help pay for school-related expenses in the UK, using our Federal School Code G30450.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

College can be a big investment, but it shouldn't break the bank. I wanted to get a degree that would give me more value and coming to East London did exactly that. Not only am I graduating with far less student debt than if I had stayed in California, but I can also afford to travel all over Europe on the cheap. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I'm so glad I didn't let it pass me by!"
Josh Atkins, USA , BSc (Hons) Marketing
MEET YOUR REPRESENTATIVE
About me – Caitlyn Banania, Americas Recruitment Officer
I am the Americas Recruitment Officer, and I am also an American UEL alum. I took a leap of faith and made the move across the pond at the tender age of 18. I fell in love with London, through my time at UEL, I couldn't get over how diverse and relentless this city is. My experience was further enriched by all the people I met - both British and international.
Even if you're just thinking about studying abroad, it doesn't hurt to ask questions - trust me I did! If you know you want to study abroad, why wait to start your journey? Completing an application is one thing, but what happens next? How do you apply for housing, scholarships, possibly a visa? What do you need to consider when studying abroad?
Don't worry, I'm here to help you take it step-by-step and anytime you need me, I'll only be a call or an email away!
