Ventakesh Kumar - East London Voices
After finishing my undergrad in Chennai, the ambition to learn more, to see physiotherapy practised differently, propelled me to explore studying abroad. The University of East London became the answer.
It wasn't just about the location, though being in London was amazing. UEL's MSc Physiotherapy programme was an eye-opener. The curriculum enhanced my existing understanding and opened entirely new ways of approaching physiotherapy. It really helped me see the bigger picture.
One of the things I loved most about UEL was the diversity. People from all corners of the globe, different backgrounds, different ways of seeing the world – it was a vibrant learning environment. Thankfully, the move from Chennai to London wasn't as daunting as I thought it might be. Having friends who'd already made the leap helped ease the transition.
But UEL's impact went far beyond the classroom. Studying there exposed me to cutting-edge physiotherapy practices; approaches I wouldn't have encountered back home. Fast forward to today, and I'm working with some of India's elite athletes, including Olympic contenders and even a multi-medal winning Commonwealth champion. There's no doubt that my time at UEL played a huge role in getting me here.
I truly believe the unique perspective I gained at UEL is what sets me apart. The course equipped me with skills and knowledge that other candidates simply don't have. It's the reason I landed my dream job.
If you're an aspiring physiotherapist looking to push your boundaries and explore new horizons, I can't recommend UEL highly enough. The supportive community, the diverse environment, and the high-quality education is unmatched.
