Why did you choose to study at UEL?
As an African I wished to study abroad and when the opportunity arose for me to study for a UEL Degree in Malaysia where tuition and cost of living was more affordable, I could not refuse.
What is your one special memory of your time at UEL?
Finishing off my last exam and looking forward to graduation and knowing that attaining a UEL Hons Degree had opened so many opportunities for me was my one special memory.
What have you done since graduating from UEL?
I have worked for the past 11 years in Banking, Telecoms and Sales working for local companies in Zimbabwe. I recently resigned from my job to focus on running my hospitality company and farming.
What is your current job role? And what does it involve?
I am managing my start-up hospitality company. My role includes advertising my vacation rental cottage, managing bookings and bookkeeping. I am also farming on a small scale on the plot I live on.
How did UEL help you get to where you are now?
UEL helped me get where I am by giving me a chance to interact on the alumni platform and be inspired by other testimonials from alumni wo have achieved amazing things in their careers.
What advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to cherish and embrace every opportunity in life and to put into action those things they desire in secret.
What advice would you give to UEL current students preparing to graduate?
To dream bigger and trust that YOU can achieve anything you desire in life.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:
I am a very resilient person and I used to dream big but never thought I could achieve these because I couldn’t have faith. Now I believe that everything around me can be used to achieve my dreams.
If you were to do it all again, would you still choose UEL?
I would choose UEL and I would have found ways to get an opportunity to study even on an exchange program at a UEL campus.
