Futsal
Futsal
Futsal is a 5-a-side game, played indoors with a ball similar to a football; just slightly smaller and heavier. It's an exciting, fast-paced game, originating from South America in the 1930s.
Futsal is played across the world and is officially recognised by UEFA and FIFA.
Some of the world’s best football players, including Lionel Messi even began playing Futsal.
UEL has two men’s teams who have both done well in their leagues during the 2018-19 season. Teams play their matches on a weekend allowing for more flexibility with their studies and giving the futsal club more opportunities for social events.
Training takes place at SportsDock every Thursday from 6.00-8.00pm.
UEL’s Futsal team play within our state of the art £21 million SportsDock facility at the Docklands campus. We pride ourselves upon our dynamic sports complex which hosts all of our futsal fixtures. We have a show court in our first arena and two futsal pitches in our second arena.
Our Futsal Club has two men’s teams. We compete in the BUCS league; our men’s teams play in the second and third tiers respectively.
Being a part of the futsal team is all about meeting new friends, trying a new sport and getting fit. For those who wish to take futsal further, we are also partnered with national futsal league club, Genesis.
