Responding to change

The five University tiers

The government has outlined four levels of restriction that need to be implemented by universities, in partnership with the local authorities, in a phased manner. These tiers apply to all UK universities.

  • Tier 0:  All teaching, learning and University services will be accessible on-campus with all University services on campus open. Timetabled teaching and learning will be delivered 100% on campus (timetabled in 2 ½ days per week) with students able to flex online with permission from course/module leaders. Educational provision and services will continue to be accessible online via Track My Future.

  • Tier 1: Our campuses are open and COVID-secure. The University of East London's dual delivery educational framework provides a combination of on campus and online learning. Teaching and learning on campus is available two days per week with access to the full range of University education and services online via Track My Future.
  • Tier 2: Teaching and learning on campus is available one day per week for all courses. The full range of University education and services are available online via Track My Future. Limited on campus services remain open.
  • Tier 3: Teaching and learning for most courses proceed online via Track My Future. Practical, creative and clinical courses have one day per week timetabled on campus. Residential and University services on campus continue.
  • Tier 4: All teaching and learning online.
