2020 December Alumni of the month
Why did you choose to study at UEL?
The fantastic sports programmes and facilities. Being a sports scholar too has given me so many opportunities and experiences - my course has truly been life transforming.
What is your one special memory of your time at UEL?
The memories & friendships I found during my course. But the opportunity to rep UEL in my 1st year in BUCS promotion game - we won and earned the right to play in the premier league for the next season.
What have you done since graduating from UEL?
I would like to invite you to watch our newest fundraising video to understand what a fantastic sports charity I am involved with.
What is your current job role? And what does it involve?
Line managing two of my fellow coaches, I am involved in the implementation stages of the charity's strategies whilst leading the v.ball programme in Central Foundation Girls' School in Tower Hamlets.
How did UEL help you get to where you are now?
Without my studies I would have never been qualify or have a wide enough understanding of the sporting scene in the UK to earn my promotion to be the only female senior head coach.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don't be silly and worry for your injury, and things will turn out just fine!
What advice would you give to UEL current students preparing to graduate?
If anyone takes one advice: do NOT leave your dissertation to the last week, it will be so worth it when you have a great piece of paper - whilst avoiding the stress :)
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know:
My father was an Olympian who just missed out on the bronze medal game in handball, Seoul 1988.
If you were to do it all again, would you still choose UEL?
ABSOLUTELY! Best choice of my life.
