The Power of Black Storytelling - LinkedIn Live
The session will explore historical examples of Black narratives being erased or distorted and discuss how we can actively work to reclaim and correct these stories. Discover how Black stories have been overlooked in traditional education and what universities can do to change this, as well as how university courses impact representations of Black people in history and society.
We will also examine how storytelling in higher education can help Black students connect with their history and identity, and how storytelling within Black communities preserves culture across generations.
Lastly, we’ll delve into the challenges and opportunities faced by independent Black creators in controlling and distributing their own stories. Don’t miss this insightful conversation—tune in and be part of the dialogue!
